Children for the ages

Children of Men is the best movie of the millennium.

I'm still digesting the Alfonso Cuaron masterpiece, but I can say it really, truly is the best film since the 1990s. Go see it as soon as possible.

I concur...what a terrific and incredibly comprehensive film, though maybe not the best film since the 90s. Cuaron didn't leave out any details...I spent as much time looking at the billboards, listening to the background ads on the radio and trying to read the newspapers as I did following the plotline.

Saw it with Ann this afternoon. Awesome movie -- gave us both a lot to think about. And I agree with Stanicek that the details were spectacular -- kind of along the same lines of "V for Vendetta" but even more thoroughly rendered.

I saw it Saturday and really enjoyed it, too, even though I usually hate post-apocalyptic sci fi. How can a movie be so incredibly depressing and hopeful at the same time?! Plus, Clive Owen is THE MAN.
